Plus after thoroughly enjoying Flying Wild Hog’s Shadow Warrior 2, I wanted to revisit their freshman effort. Hard Reset - It’s short, sweet, and about as close as you can get to playing a modern Blade Runner game, outside of maybe the Deus Ex series. I bet this will be the game that holds me over in 2017. I’m not one for survival world-building games, but 7 Days has a lot going for it, and a few of my coworkers play it as well, making it a fun, social game. I can always fire up the game for a quick radiant quest, or just go about building up some settlements.ħ Days to Die - If I had discovered 7 Days to Die in 2016, this would definitely be the game I would've played the most. But I do love the world that Bethesda has built, and their DLC kept me busy the past year. There were so many missed opportunities, otherwise. It’s not my favorite Fallout (that honor belongs to New Vegas), and Fallout 4 certainly has its problems. These games are either things that have been in our backlog for a while or games that have enraptured us in some way.įallout 4 - I can’t believe how many hours I’ve actually put into this game. Today we are talking about the games that we played the most in 2016, regardless of when they came out. Over the next two weeks we'll discuss the games that really stood out in 2016-for good and bad reasons.

Let me know what you think in the comments below. With 2016 in the rearview mirror, it's time to look back at the games that came out last year and talk through which ones stuck with us.

Quite a lot of scenes aren't in the 1997 game, so I had to go through a lot of trouble to find alternatives for some scenes and locations. This was a lot of fun to make, if only because it made me really analyze the original trailer.

Naturally, I used Remako v1.0, but I used a lot of other great mods as well. I remade the FF7 Remake Trailer from Sony's State of Play event in FF7-PC. To round off this post I wanted to share something fun I've been putting together this weekend. Can you guess which game it is? The first one to guess it will get a shoutout in the mod itself or its launch trailer. What game this is, I will reveal in the coming weeks. Here are some hints to what that game is: But I also wanted it to be a different style of game from FF7. It looks quite good, so check it out.įor my next project, I wanted to remaster a game that is as special to me (if not more) than Final Fantasy VII is to me. Also, with FF9 there is already a mod that upscales the graphics. Unlike with FF7, I don't have a connection with these two games. I can tell you know, that at the moment this is not something I want to do. Many people have asked me to upscale FF8 or FF9. Besides, you guys are still playing through v1.0 :D My Next Project So first want to do another project first. I have spent a lot of time on Remako, especially in the two weeks leading up to the release. However, I won't get around to this immediately. There are also some other textures that could still use a higher resolution remake. I didn't get around to improving the magical effects textures as there were some roadblocks that prevented me from completing them, which I only noticed when I got too close to the release of 1.0. There are still some areas that could use improving. With version 1.0, most of Final Fantasy VII's graphics have been improved and most of the major kinks have been ironed out. The mod has been featured on multiple gaming sites, downloaded more than 5.000 times and 1.0 launch trailer has been viewed more than 110.000 times. Version 1.0 has been out for a couple of weeks now and the response has been great.
